57 years ago, on the 9th August 1956 – 20,000 women staged a march to the Union Buildings in Pretoria in protest to the proposed amendments to the Urban Areas Act of 1950 (Pass Laws). Led by Lilian Ngoyi, Helen Joseph, Rahima Moosa, Frances Baard and Sophie Williams, these women left bundles of petitions containing over 100 000 signatures at government’s door. They sang a protest song composed in honour of the occasion, Wathint’Abafazi Wathint’imbokodo – now you have touched the women, you have struck a rock. These words have come to represent the courage and strength of South African women.

Today, we see women achieving recognition and success in a variety of arenas, from their within communities to the world stage – women are agents of change! At Froth Beverages we are celebrating the symbol of courage, and the power that South African women have to continue to bring about transformation.

You rocked the rAge Expo for 53 hours!

At 9pm on Thursday 4 October, the queue for rAge Expo 2012 started – an amazing 9 hours before the show was scheduled to open. This certainly proves that the rAge Expo is without a doubt an event on most people’s calendar and from what was on offer this year, we can see why.

The sheer volume of people attending rAge was a jaw-dropping sight - not to mention the number of attendees kitted out in full gamer gear, dressed as their alter egos, ready to do battle with the best of them. Clearly rAgers are fun bunch of people with a serious passion for gaming.

At Event Food Services we battened down the hatches, stocked up and braced for record crowds attending the show this year. Our kitchen and services teams worked tirelessly to tame the queues day and night, making sure you got back to your games as quickly as possible. Our concessionary kiosks ran 24 hours a day brewing fresh coffee for the night owls and for the morning larks we served a piping hot breakfast at 6am each day.

The crowds swelled to such huge numbers that on Saturday 6th October, Coca-Cola Dome Management were forced to close the doors temporarily so as to ensure the safety of all attending, until the numbers thinned out. This is the second time in the Coca-Cola Dome’s history that they have had to do this.

Our gourmet burgers meal deals and delicious smoothies hit the spot with many attendees, keeping our food court and satellite stations running at full speed for a staggering 53 hours straight.

You networked, you played, you rocked rAge 2012!

A smooth thank you to secretaries!

It’s been said that the first thing a secretary types is the boss… if that is indeed true then the Adminstrative team at Binnington, Copeland and Associates have the right type of leadership.

Froth Beverages was asked to help the team celebrate Secretary’s Day by hosting a Smoothie Bar on the 5th September 2012, at their offices in Linden. Now, we know how hard secretaries work so we decided to really spoil the team with a delicious menu of exotic juice smoothies blended with the finest greek yoghurt, African honey and the freshest summer fruit juices.

The Binnington, Copeland and Associates Admin team were about to enjoy the most blissful afternoon since the load shedding blitz in 2010. The Froth Beverages team set up the mobile beverage unit in under an hour and were ready to serve the team of 25 excited secretaries and administrative assistants, in the office by tea time.

Our smoothie blenders put in some serious overtime, blending our signature Strawberry and Black Cherry delight - the most requested smoothie of the morning. Hotly contested by our magnificent Mango smoothie using the freshest seasonal Mango blended with locally grown Banana, a chunk of frozen yoghurt and a dash of honey. For the adventurous palates and daring foodies, we made a fantastical Pomegranate and Ginger smoothie that hinted at holidays spent on a breezy beach under a copper sunset.

The admin team left feeling spoilt and certainly recharged and rearing to go! Thank you Binnington, Copeland and Associates for the opportunity to show off our new mobile bar and for allowing us to share this experience with such an amazing team of people.

We offer an exciting mobile bar serving speciality coffees, smoothies and cocktails - so book us for your next function!
